Sourcing Manager

Salary: £45,000 - £60,000

Location: Coventry/Ryton on Dunsmore

We now have a fantastic opportunity for a experienced, hands on Sourcing Manager.  The role will be stand alone in nature, and have responsibility in all areas relating to Buying and Procurement. This will include but not be limiting to sourcing new products, suppliers, ordering and risk management.

Responsibilities

  • Sourcing new products to fit and fill the Millboard product offering, from a range of products including plastics (pedestals & subframes), aluminium (subframes), fibreglass stonefiller, resins, paints and fixings (screws)
  • Sourcing new suppliers and related negotiations including due diligence on contracts, driving maximum value for Millboard whilst balancing security of supply across all critical ingredients and purchases
  • Understanding of Millboards product management and innovation priorities and works to identify a small portfolio of suppliers, who are capable of contributing to them through their own innovation and use of leading-edge technology or materials to enhance the Millboard brand
  • Specification & quality policing
  • JIT ordering, including daily stock replenishment management
  • Analysing supplier performance appraisals and measurements, ensuring the supply chain is efficient/cost effective and identifying appropriate opportunities
  • Dual supply protection
  • Rebate management
  • Systematic regular cost reviews and reviewing cost inputs
  • Enforcing terms and conditions of purchase across overseas frontiers, including appropriate management of currency risk
  • Risk management of overseas supply lines
  • Ensuring relevant insurance cover is in place, and knowledge of customs procedures

Person Specification

  • Significant experience in sourcing materials including aluminium, plastic and chemicals from overseas, including Eastern Europe and the Far East
  • Manufacturing or Engineering background is essential
  • Extensive experience in areas relating to buying/procurement
  • Confidence in negotiating and networking
  • Strong commercial awareness, creative, organised with the ability to multi-task
  • Confidence working in a hands on entrepreneurial environment
  • A problem-solving mentality, analysing the tasks our end users undertake, identifying the pain points and creating new solutions that drive commercial value
  • Coding and pricing knowledge
  • Self-aware, resilient, optimistic and open to change
  • Collaborative approach with colleagues in other departments
  • Ability to work with and analyse data
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to persuade and influence at all levels
  • Good numeracy skills and a competent user of Microsoft Excel with the ability to analyse, report and explain data accurately
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills
