Millboard decking is manufactured from a unique polyurethane resin blend and offers a unique alternative to timber and conventional composite decking. We now have fantastic opportunities for an experienced Production Line Leader to join our high performing team. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the successful candidate is required to ensure that all standards and targets are met; all lines are running efficiently and will be able to implement recovery plans as required to ensure any issues are resolved without having detrimental impacts on overall business performance.

Responsibilities

  • Motivate and lead a team to achieve results, demonstrating a hands on approach where necessary
  • Effectively communicate production targets and KPI’s
  • Work with the Production Supervisor on workforce and resource planning
  • Escalating employee relations and/or performance management issues to the relevant Supervisor
  • Leading the training of your team, ensuring you develop a multi – skilled workforce to cope with production demands
  • To manage the performance of the team of operators
  • Contribute fully to Team Leader meetings
  • Full responsibility for 5’s standards on allocated production lines
  • Ensure all employees work within Health and Safety standards as set by the organisation and audited, respecting that no job you do is so important it is worth getting hurt for
  • Quality standards must be adhered to at all times and audited
  • Any other reasonable task the line manager may deem as suitable for the role

Person Specification:

The competencies listed are appropriate to the Production Line Leader and are an illustration of the qualities that the Company requires.

  • Previous Team Leader experience within a hands on manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience or exposure to Polyurethane is preferred but is not essential
  • ILM Level 2/3 preferred
  • Green belt six sigma certified preferred but not essential
  • Experience of a high volume, fast paced environment
  • Ability to lead and make decisions
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to persuade and influence at all levels
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills
  • Proven ability of meeting and exceeding internal and external stakeholder requirements
  • Ability to adapt and respond to change
  • Able to demonstrate ability to achieve objectives and exceed expectations
  • Applicants must have a full UK driving licence

Additional Information

  • Shift Patterns will be a rotating shift; rotating weekly between 5.45am-2pm and 1.45pm-10pm.
